Terms of Service
These terms set out the agreement between you and Occasi when you use our service. We've written them in plain English. By creating an account or using Occasi, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Occasi (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a UK-based service that lets people create event websites and collect RSVPs for weddings, birthdays, baby showers and other private events. You can reach us any time at [email protected].
2. Your account
You need an account to use Occasi. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account. You must give accurate information and be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or guardian. Let us know promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account.
3. What Occasi does
Occasi lets you personalise an event invitation, collect RSVPs, plan seating and collect guest memories. You can create a private draft before purchasing. Publication requires the paid access described below.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use Occasi only for lawful, genuine event purposes. You must not use it to:
- Break the law or infringe anyone else's rights, including copyright or trademarks.
- Upload content that is offensive, harassing, hateful, deceptive, or harmful.
- Send spam, run scams, or collect people's data without their knowledge.
- Attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
You are responsible for the content you add to your site, and for making sure you have the right to use any images, text or links you upload.
5. Purchases and hosting
New RSVP collection: £29.99 once per event. This includes one personalised invitation and 12 months of hosting from confirmed purchase. There is no automatic renewal or monthly charge for this offer. Create your private draft for free, then pay securely when you are ready to publish.
Purchases made under an earlier offer remain subject to the terms agreed at that time. The new RSVP offer does not start or renew a subscription.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Occasi does not store full card details.
6. Refunds
We do not offer discretionary change-of-mind refunds. This does not affect your statutory cancellation or refund rights, including any applicable cooling-off period. If you are a UK consumer, online service contracts generally have a 14-day cancellation period from the day after the contract is made; purchasing or publishing alone does not waive those rights. To request cancellation or report a payment problem, email [email protected] with your account email and invitation or payment reference.
However, if we fail to provide the service you've paid for — for example, if the platform is unavailable for a sustained period or doesn't do what we've described — you're entitled to a remedy. We'll put it right, or where we can't, refund you for the affected period. This reflects your rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, which we don't try to limit. If something's gone wrong, email [email protected] and we'll sort it out.
7. Hosting ending
New RSVP invitations stop being available to guests when the included 12-month hosting period ends. They do not renew automatically. Existing subscription-based sites remain available while their paid hosting is active. Ending hosting does not itself delete your account or content. We may also take a site offline if it breaks these terms.
8. Your content and ours
You keep ownership of everything you create and upload — your text, photos, guest details and registry. You grant us permission to host and display that content as needed to run the service for you. We own Occasi itself — the platform, templates, designs and software — and you may not copy or resell it.
9. Cash gifts and external links
If you add a cash-gift link or link to an external registry, payments and purchases happen directly between you, your guests and those third parties. Occasi doesn't handle that money and isn't responsible for those external services.
10. Availability
We work hard to keep Occasi running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available without interruption. We may carry out maintenance, make changes, or occasionally experience downtime. See section 6 for what happens if a paid service isn't delivered.
11. Our liability
Occasi is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for things outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law — including your statutory consumer rights. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the previous 12 months.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using Occasi and delete your account at any time from your settings — this permanently removes your sites, RSVPs and personal details, and ends access to your invitations. Deleting your account does not automatically request a refund; contact us if you want to exercise a statutory cancellation right. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use Occasi after changes means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
